This tool doesn't project anything. It replays. Every player on your roster has a list of the actual PPR scores they put up in each game last season — the real 24.5, the real 4.8. To simulate one week, the tool reaches into that list and pulls out a real game at random. To simulate a season it does that fourteen times, for every team, and then plays the schedule. A thousand seasons later you have a distribution instead of a guess.
Statisticians call this bootstrap resampling, and the reason to prefer it over a tidy bell curve is that football scoring isn't tidy. A receiver with four quiet games and two monsters doesn't behave like an average — the shape of his season matters, and resampling keeps that shape intact instead of flattening it into a mean and a standard deviation.
Watch how much more playoff odds move than mean wins. Two rosters can both project 8.4 wins while one makes the playoffs 61% of the time and the other 44%, because what decides a fantasy season isn't your average — it's how often your good weeks land in the same week as someone else's bad one. That volatility is the whole game, and it's exactly what a single projected total hides from you.
Now the limits, plainly. This assumes every player repeats last season's form and stays as healthy as they were. It knows nothing about 2026 — not a new offensive coordinator, not a rookie who just took someone's touches, not a training-camp injury, not strength of schedule. Players with no games last season can't be simulated at all and are left out, which means rookies are invisible here. And because the FLEX slot always picks your best score after the fact, every team's totals run slightly hot. Treat the output as a way to compare shapes of risk, not as a forecast.
